Domaine Meo Camuzet

17 April 1969. General Charles de Gaulle gives up politics. “We must not be depressed”, he says to a friend. “Fetch me one of Meo wines”. It was a bottle Clos de Vougeot 1964… Note that the General chose a wine that had not celebrated yet its fifth anniversary! Meo-Camuzet wines are so charming when young, that is rather difficult to keep them for a long time. In Jean Nicolas Meo’s cellar you can find some of the most thrilling Richebourg, Echezeaux, Clos de Vougeot, as there is no room for mediocrities there. He is a model-producer for the entire Burgundy.
