Chateau Courlat

The mission was almost impossible: find a Chateau among St. Emilion satellites, with typicity, quality and character at a very reasonable price! Many kilometers after, driving around the villages Montagne, Lussac and Puisseguin, we arrived in Chateau du Courlat. This chateau is well-known for the quality- it is considered as one of the ten top properties - but not for the high prices. After several meetings and some help from the “11th of September”, we started importing a wonderful Bordeaux that is great value for money. The simple Courlat is 65% Merlot and it is rather difficult not to appreciate its character from the first contact. The Cuvee Baptiste is 100% Merlot in 100% new oak and beats out many St. Emilion wines of the double price!
